Lawyers’ welfare: Two diagnostic centres to be set up at lower courts

The Lahore Bar Association is planning to set up two diagnostic centres at lower courts for lawyers, The Express Tribune has learnt.


The LBA, in collaboration with the Supreme Court Bar Association, will set up diagnostic centres at Aiwan-i-Adal and at the district court where the lawyers’ community will be provided diagnostic facilities. LBA General Secretary Kamran Bashir Mughal said bar representatives had met the SCBA president, seeking his support for the project last week. He said SCBA President Israrul Haq had promised the LBA representatives Rs900,000 grant to set up these centres. He said work on the centres would begin in a few weeks. He said the LBA would approach the health secretary for appointment of medical officers.

He said laboratory facilities would be available at the two centres. He said bar representatives had met with MNA Hamza Shahbaz, seeking allocation of land for a lawyers’ housing society.
