ISLAMABAD: The federal government and the Sindh administration have agreed to continue the ongoing targeted operations against target killers and extortionists in Karachi.

Sources told Daily Express that the Sindh government had informed the Centre that the police and Rangers raids were ‘100% based on intelligence reports’. According to sources, the law-enforcement agencies were focusing solely on criminals, irrespective of their political affiliations.

“The confessions of these criminals are being recorded and can be used in the court,” a source said.

According to officials, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on his return from the US had inquired about Karachi’s situation from Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, who briefed him about the ongoing operations in the city.

Nisar also informed the premier about the recent wave of terrorist attacks in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
