In an interview with Express News, Khattak said "You are carrying out the blasts."
Asserting that the media was sensationalising the issues affecting K-P, he said that if people weren't questioning him, why was the media creating an issue.
"We are the representatives of the people and no one is questioning us," he said.
"When I switch on the television I feel embarrassed," he continued, saying that media was intent on only highlighting the negatives.
A day earlier, a blast in the Qissa Khawani area of Peshawar had claimed over 40 lives. Three powerful attacks in the city have claimed at least 150 lives in the past week.
On September 22, two suicide bombers attacked the All Saints Church compound and two days later a bus carrying government employees was bombed on the edge of Peshawar.

Media is a mirror which reflects the true selves of our public representatives. Mr. Khattak, don't like would you see - either get rid of the mirror or do something about the face.

i don't know why these people can't see the blood shed of ordinary citizens. For last two weeks, half a dozen attacks have been done on KP citizens but still this CM has no interest in handling the situations. Could we say, " Circumstances are running out of PTI govt?"

In Pakistani culture the so called leadership will never quit unless they are booted out some how, they really believe that they own that chair which they occupy regardless what happens to the people who sent them there. In any other civilized country he would have either resigned or forced to resign but as I said it is not in our genes. He is a pathetic person, and IK is getting the same way anymore. I suppose the power corrupt them to the extent where they can't think logically or sensibly.

He is not a media-savvy person and reporters know that. Remember how reporters used to flock to Aslam Raisani, former CM Balochistan? Because they knew that they will get scoop from Raisani. KP is still a safer place than Karachi. More people have died in Karachi alone than whole of KP. How many times Qaim Ali Shah is interviewed in a day?

I agree...209 blasts and media was silent...dead silent...3 blasts under PTI government...and suddenly everyone on media is concerned about the Pakistani blood...people are not fools...CM Khattak has a point...he is not the Prime Minister of Pakistan nor an Interior Minister Ch Nisar, the man primarily responsible for the security of all Pakistanis, who are still sleeping undecided on what Counter-Terrorism policy should be...meanwhile PTI has decided to can a conference on its own on 5th October, chaired by Imran Khan himself. High time media puts the spot-light on the Fed Govt who actually call all shots.

Media has no limits. PEMRA is sleeping. When PEMRA told all channels not to telecast live images of Sikandar. Media personal did not pay any heed to PEMRA. instead they wanted to get in to the face of Sikandar and ask him his past time hobby. Media has become more sick like Indian Media.
So you are now starting to face the realities and starting to understand that taking practical steps while in the government is far more difficult than mere election slogans. You are now blaming media for your failures. Let me remind you, it was this media which actually gave you (an undue) boost for 15 months, (something you even could not imagined for 15 years). It is therefore, due to this media that you were able to form government in this province. Media is only doing its job, its only that history is repeating itself. The media kept crushing PPP, ANP and MQM for 5 years, its now your turn to face the music. Its only that, these parties still survived for 5 years, while your survival for even 5 months seems difficult.
Things are becoming clearer day by day what all type of help Ulemas and media giving to TTP and who have asked for turce between army and TTP so ulemas,mollahs,moulanas are the real challenge to the peace and the nation.

I am a PTI supporter & probably will always be as long as they stick to their principles. But frankly, I have not been able to get this guy. What does this guy say I have no idea? PTI could do better by installing someone else as CM. My humble opinion.

The KP CM appears to be a bigger hypocrite than the PTI chief. He is blaming the media for attacks but claims that the people of his state are not complaining against these ghastly attacks in which more than 100 lives were lost. The CM should realise that people of his state are now resigned to their fate as they are convinced that the present govt is totally incompetent and weak to protect their lives and begging for talks and offering opening offices to TTP who is paying no heed but instead carrying out more attacks.
Khattak has beaten Rehman Malik today.
What else can you expect from a media that only sees Lal Masjid and Bugti from a 9 year rule when Pakistan prospered.
