Timely action: BDS defuses bomb targeting QWP leader’s house

A bomb planted by unidentified militants outside the house of Mandani union council’s former nazim was defused on Saturday.


Mandani police sub-inspector Imran Khan said, former nazim Nisar Khan and district leader for the Qaumi Watan Party, told the police he was coming out of his house when he spotted a suspicious looking canister along the boundary wall.


Following this, the police reached the site, cordoned the area off and called in a bomb disposal squad (BDS) official who defused the device.


According to the BDS official, two kilogrammes of high-intensity explosives were planted in the canister targeting Nisar’s house. The police have registered a case against unidentified militants.
