KARACHI: The father of slain political activist and Peoples Amn Committee leader Zafar Baloch has demanded that the murder case of his slain son should be registered against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Nabil Gabol, Express News reported.

In his statement to the police, Baloch's father Mohammad Ali said that the MQM leader had been sending threats for a some time now.

He claimed it was on orders from Gabol that four armed men gunned his son down earlier this week.

Senior Superintendent Police stated that the case had been registered against Nabil Gabol and four unknown armed men on motorcycles, as per Mohammad Ali's wish.

Background

Four armed men on two motorcycles gunned down Baloch and another worker, Muhammad Ali, who were also on motorcycles. Two other friends of Baloch’s, driving another motorcycle behind them, were injured in the firing.

The incident took place at Bizenjo Chowk, Lyari, which is a Peoples Amn Committee stronghold. The PAC had been banned on terrorism charges in October 2011 by the Sindh government.

Baloch had helped in forming the party in 2008 with its founder, notorious gangster Rehman Dakait. The latter was killed in an alleged encounter a year later.

@Ali Ahmed, yeah why not? They shouldn't be exclusive when the matter of law and order is concerned but unfortunately I have to agree with you. Thousands of Baloch are abducted and killed by the high authorities from Islamabad and Rawalpindi and despite having proof the supreme court is powerless. I hope one day the supremacy of law applies to Pakistan as well
