KARACHI: Mr Haider has called for an “open” investigation into the alleged shooting. This, however, especially given our past and the power and influence enjoyed by the military establishment may be asking for too much. And this happens not just because the military is allegedly involved in this – consider the outcome of the investigation into the lunching and murder of the two brothers in Sialkot some weeks ago. Nothing concrete has come of it, other than some of the policemen on duty have been arrested. But it remains to be seen if any of them will be punished.
