Khyber Agency: Bodies of suspected militants found in Bara

Deaths follow an operation by security forces against militant strongholds in the area.

KHYBER AGENCY: Bullet-ridden bodies of as many as 21 suspected militants were found in Khangai area of the troubled Bara division of Khyber Agency on Thursday evening.

A source within security forces operating in the area informed that after recent attacks on police and security forces in Frontier Region Kohat and Peshawar, security forces launched a search operation backed by gunship helicopters in Akka Khel, Zawa and Khangai area of Bara to clear the said areas from militants.

The official explained that Khangai was a militant stronghold from where the militants use to infiltrate in FR Kohat, Peshawar and in Akka Khel and Orakzai Agency, operating from hideouts which the security operation bombed by gunships.

The source further added that the bodies which were mutilated and could not be identified. They were shifted by security forces and Khasadar officials to Shahkas Levies Fort in Jamrud division for due identification.

So far no one has come to claim the bodies.
