HANGU: The house of a suspected militant and assassin of MPA Farid Khan was destroyed in Speen Khawri on Friday.

Police said unidentified militants detonated Asifullah’s residence around 2am. Asifullah has confessed to killing another 36 people besides the deceased Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA.

Police official Azmat Khan said the building was razed to the ground, adding two other houses in the neighbourhood were also destroyed.

“They (militants) used 15 kilogrammes to destroy Asifullah’s house and two adjacent houses were also destroyed by the impact of the explosion,” said Azmat, adding no one was present in the house as the family had evacuated the residence following Asifullah’s arrest.

On June 3, Farid Khan, an MPA from PK-42, was gunned down on his way to Hangu city. Police and intelligence officials launched a search operation and arrested Asifullah and Abid Khan in Tarnol, near Islamabad on June 25.

During preliminary investigations, the nabbed suspects confessed to their involvement in Farid’s murder after which they were shifted to an undisclosed location, police said.
