Suicide blast near Pakistan-Afghanistan border kills 4

Ten people injured in the attack; dead include Afghan security officers.

CHAMAN: Four people were killed and 10 others sustained injuries in a bomb explosion near Pakistan-Afghan border, Express News reported on Friday.

According to initial details, this was a suicide blast and took place near the pass Bab-e-Dosti.

The dead include Afghan security officers.

The injured were shifted to nearby hospital for medical aid.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and the pass has been closed for travelling.

@Observer: Even US, with all her resources, couldn't do that. The geography of AF-PAK border is so challenging that let alone wiring, even proper patrolling is often a big challenge. @Hedgefunder: The problem is that governance structure in FATA was so weak that it couldn't sustain insurgency. Lashkars being used to fight TTP speaks volumes about absence and ineffectiveness of LEAs against TTP fountainhead. Unless we dont bring FATA under proper governance (consolidating the territories into a province or whatever alternatives) and then establish an effective Law Enforcement Infrastructure on expeditionary basis, the situation will remain as it is.
