LAHORE: A petition against the ban on YouTube scheduled for a hearing on Thursday was adjourned because the judge presiding wasn’t available. The judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has been sent to the Multan bench of the LHC for the week. The ban was placed by the former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on September 17, 2012 when YouTube refused to remove a blasphemous film from their website. Advocate Yasser Latif Hamdani a spokesperson for the NGO Bytes for All, who filed the petition against the ban has said, that all internet curbs were counterproductive and deprived Pakistanis of the right to access information as well as the opportunity to counter any propaganda against the country or against what they believe in strongly.
