PESHAWAR:

At least seven people were injured in a low intensity blast inside a mobile phone plaza in Saddar on Monday afternoon.

According to the police, a generator outside one of the shops on the first floor of Falak Ser Plaza exploded. Shopkeepers, however, suspect it was a planted bomb.

The impact of the explosion reduced the glass windows and doors to rubble, damaging many shops inside the plaza.

An official of the local police station explained the injuries were caused by the shattering of glass windows. The loud explosion created panic among the people as Falak Ser Plaza and the nearby Bilour Plaza are busy market areas.

Militants had earlier pasted threatening letters warning shop owners of dire consequences if they do not shut down their businesses of memory cards and downloaded music.
