LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif met Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani  in Model Town, Lahore, on Saturday, Express News reported.

Important matters, such as security issues and the current country situation were discussed in the meeting.

The meeting took place at Shahbaz Sharif’s residence in Model Town, where a luncheon was organised, attended by Nawaz Sharif and the Army chief.

However, the PML-N spokesperson hasn’t confirmed the news of the meeting.

British High Commissioner meets Nawaz Sharif

British High Commissioner Adam Thomson met Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind on Saturday and congratulated him for winning the elections, reported Express News.

During the meeting, they discussed political and regional matters and also talked about Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s controversial statements.

PML-N leader and former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif and Senator Ishaq Dar were also present during the meeting.

On Friday, Thomson went to meet Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital (SKMH). During the meeting, Imran urged Thompson to take notice of Altaf’s speech in accordance with British laws.

Earlier this week, Thomson held a press conference saying that Altaf’s remarks on Sunday threatening PTI supporters and demanding Karachi to be separated from the rest of Pakistan should be taken seriously.

Altaf’s statement had caused uproar across the country, although the MQM chief clarified the next day that he didn’t make any demand for secession and that his statement was misinterpreted by the media.

What Policy overhaul we are talking about here? Will PML(N) agree to the fact that this war on terror is Pakistan’s war and not an American war. Will PML(n) agree that their government will continue the war against the terrorists and marauders who are using Islam as a shield for their nefarious designs. Let PML(n) comes out clearly on this issue and we then can say that they are now on board with our establishment on this. Otherwise we shall continue to see the pacification of terrorists by our main political powers i.e PTI & PML(N). By the way, the way ANP has been routed in KP in recent elections, will any political party take such a clear and bold stand against terrorism in Pakistan ever again???????? The mind boggles really at the thinking of our masses on such a dangerous issue as terrorism which is literally eating at the vitals of our state.
