KARACHI: Visitors at The Forum Mall on Friday had the opportunity to get their blood pressure, sugar, weight and height indexes checked free of cost. Health TV observed the World Hypertension Day by setting up a health stall as a part of their programme, Mai Fit Hun, at mall, on Friday.

Free fitness tests were arranged for the people visiting the mall. Paramedics from Ziauddin Hospital handled the tests. The stall will be taken off on Sunday.

A customer, Munawar Sultana, realised that she was overweight after finding out her height and weight percentile at the stall. She told The Express Tribune that she knew she had high blood pressure but she had never checked her weight. “I came here to shop with my husband when I saw the stall,” said Sultana. “I will try to find a nutritionist now to help me lose the excess weight.”  Another visitor, Saqib Abro, also did the tests and was declared fit. “I found out the test results in less than three minutes from one place,” said Abro, adding that fitness was a very popular topic of the conversation these days.  He felt that health was the most important thing in life.

A brand manager at Health TV, Maliha Ejaz, said that the stall was open from 2pm to 8pm and they were trying to check 300 people per day. “We are also arranging for a nutritionist, yoga specialists and a skin specialist to give free health tips to the visitors.”
