The polling process in the constituency was heavily delayed due to the absence of staff and ballot papers. The ECP took notice of this and extended polls till 8pm.
Central leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Firdous Shamim Naqvi said earlier that the caretaker government of Sindh and Provincial Election Commission of Pakistan have failed to hold free and fair elections in Karachi.

wishe the eunichs, overseas pakistanis and certain minorities were allowed to vote aswell, then on we will see a new pakistan, these groups will help us break free from shackles of thappa thugs!
I was there. Voting at the boys college did not start till late afternoon because the boxes, paper and personnel did not arrive. Hundreds of women waited from early morning to cast their vote without water or food, not moving from their places. The determination of the women voters needs to be appreciated. Comments i heard: "Ramzaan mein roza rekhtein hein, apni mustakbil kay liye ye kuch nehein." Visa lines mein kharay hotay hein, apnay bachoan ke liye bhi kharay ho saktay hein." Women in last stages of pregnancy, women who were in wheelchairs, others unable to stand for long........but they stood and cast their votes only to be told now that it is to be redone maybe because some parties felt they had to keep face by creating hurdles and accusations? There is no doubt that all attempts were made to derail the process. It was thoroughly mismanaged and understaffed. BUT hats off to the voters of 250 who turned out in their totality!
NA 250 has become symbol of change in Karachi! A constituency that awakened and challenged thappa mandate. The day is not far when whole karachi is freed of shackles of fake thappa.
Regardless of the sad situation present in NA 250, certain 'parties' expect that the voters turnout from urban areas such as 'Defence' and the so called 'burger youth' would be deterred from voting again for the right party due to the postponement. I urge everyone to play their role and go out and vote again. The situation present in NA 250 does reiterate the simple fact that for the people of Pakistan, inqilab aya nahi AGAYA HAI.
