Blast in Karachi injures 7

KARACHI: Seven people including a woman and a child were injured as a gas cylinder of a CNG rickshaw exploded outside an apartment block on Abul Hassan Isfahani road, Express News reported on Thursday.

The rickshaw first caught fire and then exploded, injuring seven nearby pedestrians, including a child and a woman, Superintendent of Police Gulshan Iqbal Qaiser said after the investigation.

The sound of the blast was heard for miles around, causing fear and panic in the city. Nearby markets closed down immediately after.

A nearby motorcycle and a car were also destroyed.

The bomb disposal squad reached the area shortly after the blast, while police and rangers cordoned off the area for investigation.

Strange how only the poor and the middle class are always hurt and affected by the blasts or other calamities. Why cant any one bomb the elite areas. I am sure that in both the countries of the sub continent ,many will rejoice at such news .
