BARA:


An empty school in Chaman Kallay area of Akka Khel, Bara tehsil, Khyber Agency was blown up by unidentified militants late Friday night.


According to a political administration official, residents of the area told the administration that militants barged into the boys primary school building and planted explosives inside it.

The entire structure of the school collapsed due to the impact of the explosion, he added. The official said three classrooms were instantly turned to rubble.

He added most of the locals are currently living in the Jalozai camp for internally displaced persons due to the ongoing military operation in Bara.

According to data provided by the education department to the FATA Secretariat, around 103 schools have been destroyed in Khyber Agency by unidentified militants.
