Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz’s (PML-N) Khawaja Saad Rafiq has reportedly been acting as a middle-man for backdoor negotiations between the government and the opposition members, delivering messages back and forth. Angered by these negotiations, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain refused to preside over the meeting, saying the committee has given its mandate to non-political forces.
He questioned the authority of the parliamentary committee given the ongoing unofficial mediation.
Members of the committee also expressed anger over PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan's statements to the media on Friday, in which he hinted that the issue of selecting the caretaker PM would go to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The eight-member committee was formulated on March 19 and were given the task to pick the next caretaker prime minister of Pakistan after the government and opposition parties failed to agree on a name.
The parliamentary committee, formulated by National Assembly speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza, was given time till today to appoint the interim prime minister.

If the eight members of parliamentary committee can not reach to a conclusion through a dialogue, the last option before referring it to ECP is to write the names of all the aspirants who want to be the care-taker Prime Minister on small piece of paper and ask a child to pickup one piece of paper from the box.
Who so evers name is drawn in the luck draw should be nominated as the care-taker Prime Minister and he shall be asked to form his government.
With strong Election Commission in place, the exercise of interim PM/CMs is futile.It does not happen in UK, India, Canada, Australia, France, Newzeland. This was the creation of an idiot box and accepted by brain dead Parliment.
PML (N) none flexible approach and short sightedness will make it difficult for them if they come into power. They should tame hawks like Ch. Nisar and Rana Sanaullah if they want to be successful and get some tips from Mr. Zardari.
