ISLAMABAD: In a “generous” gesture, the government has allowed the members of the National Assembly and federal ministers of the outgoing cabinet to stay in the Parliamentary Lodges till the holding of the polls. In an even bigger gesture, the government has also decided to give free medical cover to all outgoing members of parliament for their lifetimes even after their retirement and end of tenure. This facility will also be available to their families, including their dependants.
Parliamentarians who were members of parliament for even one day are also entitled to receive this facility. All this will be provided for by using the taxpayers’ hard-earned money. Was the repeated loot of the masses for five years not enough? It seems that the powers that-be are all out to suck whatever blood the poor are left with.
