Oscar and Emmy award winning film director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has been appointed as a SAARC Goodwill Ambassador for HIV and AIDS for the years 2013 and 2014, by the SAARC Selection Committee for this programme.
According to a press release, Sharmeen will be working with other Goodwill Ambassadors including Shri Ajay Devgan and Runa Laila in India, to garner an enhanced response to the fight against HIV/AIDS within SAARC member states through advocacy and public mobilisation efforts at the regional level.
