Road Crime: Kidnapped cab driver freed

Four months ago, four people rented his taxi for Sukkur but waylaid him at gunpoint.

BAHAWALPUR: A taxi driver, who had been kidnapped four months ago, was freed on Saturday after a Rs300,000 ransom was paid.

Sikander Ali, a resident of Rahman Colony, told The Express Tribune he ran a cab.

Four months ago, four people rented his taxi for Sukkur but waylaid him at gunpoint.

Sikander’s uncle paid the ransom.

Younas Mughal, who owned the taxi, has submitted a complaint with the A-Division police, accusing Sikander of stealing the cab.
