The SHO of Kari Khaisur police station was injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire at him in tehsil Pahar Pur, DI Khan on Wednesday.
A police official of the Kari Khaisur police station told The Express Tribune that police personnel were on duty at a check post on Shah Esa Road, when they signalled for a motorcycles to stop. The motorcyclist retaliated by opening fire, injuring SHO Imran Kundi.
The culprits managed to escape after the incident, the police official added.
Kundi was immediately rushed to District Headquarters Hospital where doctors said his condition was stable.
An FIR has been lodged against the unidentified gunmen and a search for the attackers is underway.
