Pakistan Taliban 'bans vulgar films, Viagra'
Those involved in this business are warned to quit this occupation.

PESHAWAR: The Tehreek-e-Taliban has warned shopkeepers in Karkhano market, Peshawar to stop selling “obscene films” and Viagra-style male potency pills.
Shopkeepers told AFP Monday that they found handwritten pamphlets containing the warnings on Saturday.
“Selling sex drugs, vulgar films and obscene movies are against Sharia,” said copies of the pamphlet distributed in the name of TTP Khyber.
“All those involved in this business are warned to quit this occupation and start a lawful business or face the consequences,” it said.
Those who received the threatening letter spoke to AFP on condition of anonymity because of fear of reprisals.
Dozens of shops in Karkhano openly sell pornographic films and male potency tablets, according to witnesses.
The market borders the Khyber district, where fighting has recently intensified in a long-running military operation against the Taliban and other militias on the Afghan border.
Shopkeepers selling music and films are routinely threatened in the area, where hundreds of DVD and CD shops have been bombed in the past by militants who deem their business un-Islamic.
At least 10 people were killed and 26 wounded Friday when a bomb exploded near a DVD shop in Kalaya, the main town of Orakzai tribal district.

This is not news. The TTP is now calling the shots in Peshawar. Soon they will say move over PPP, we are taking over. “Theocracy is the best revenge.”
Previously, they bombed CD shops and have now issued a warning to discontinue the sale of obscene and vulgar movies and sex drugs or face the consequences. Whatever may be the intent, its not a bad idea to stop the exhibition of pornography and drugs. Salams TTP.

Such measures ought to be taken by improving seller’s feeling towards Islam and informing him about aftermath of next life. If he adapts then he will cause to change many. Contrarily, if you try to suppress he might stop selling but his heart will never change.

Taliban has chosen the right place for implementation of sharia which would soon spread over to other parts of Pakistan. The time will come people the world over would visit Pakistan who will be cut off from rest of the world on special visas issued by Taliban to see and study the conditions prevailing during the medieval times.

What about producing & selling selling heroin/ opium.( extremists/ Taliban are engaged in selling/ supporting its sale ) Are they Islamic.? The news piece states, “militants who deem their business un-Islamic.”. To my liberal friends [I am personally a centrist!!!], pornography is as much “unislamic” for all of us, as it is for the militants. Not only is it un-Islamic, which may or may not matter to a true liberal, its trade and use is also against the laws of Pakistan, which must matter to all, liberals or conservatives or centrists like myself.
Furthermore, while it is true that Viagra is a medicine, it is a prescription drug, to be sold under strict medical guidance and CANNOT be sold without a prescription. The side effects of extended, unmonitored use as well as of overdoses [out of sheer curiosity by the uninitiated], could be crippling and extremely dangerous for the user’s health.
While I am not proclaiming Pakistan as a Caliphate as yet, the “threats” by the militants does make sense. The penalty threatened [i.e. death by bullet or bomb], however, is extremely heavy handed and far outwieghs the crime. A simple public thrashing or face-blackening would suffice! [The poor militants don't have jails and I assure you that if they did, the faulty businessmen would gladly prefer the thrashing / face-blackening!].

Being the muslims not TTP but every muslim individually and collectively must have to take solid steps to eliminate/uproot vulgarity from the society but sans damaging/harming any one and any one’s properties by living within gentleness,moral,ethical and Islamic limitation.Because being a muslim this is our first and foremost duty to spread Islamic values in the society thru peaceful means not forcefully on gunpoint by damaging any thing because Islam is the religion of peace and word “Islam” means peace and most especially importantly Rasoolullah (SAW) said that a true muslim is that from which hands and tongue other muslims are save.In the good works we all have to help each others in the peaceful ways….
