ISLAMABAD: Former Member of National Assembly (MNA) Shahnaz Sheikh has submitted a list of 20 MNAs with dual nationality to the Supreme Court, Express News reported on Monday.
Sheikh mentioned the names in a letter written to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
Belonging to Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q), Sheikh’s membership was suspended by the Supreme Court in October 2012 for holding Australian nationality while being a Pakistani national and a member of the National Assembly.
In her letter, Sheikh requested the court to put the procedure - aimed at reimbursing benefits enjoyed by dual national MNAs - on hold until the case's final verdict is out.
The list included names of Asim Hussain, Raza Haroon, Shahbeen Rizvi, Tayib Hussain, Fauzia Ejaz and Jameel Ashraf.

@ Jiyala Do you know the nationality of Sanam Bhutto, real sister of Benazir and daughter of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto? She is also a British citizen... So let's not generalise it for "Bhuttos". Anyone who obtains dual-nationality can be and must be questioned for patriotism. He or she must be barred from holding any public office in Pakistan. @ClueGeek Is sending money to Pakistan the barometer for service to the nation? If so, IMF being the largest contributor of foreign exchange should be "elected" as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
It's funny that dual nationals are being treated like criminals in a country which heavily depends on its overseas citizens for bulk of foreign exchange that comes into the country. Either don't recognize dual nationality or just get over this whole debate.

@Aamir - Toronto: He has ONLY Pakistani nationality. Bhuttos can sacrifice their life but wont get nationalities to hide in other countries. SC should guide us if leader of any party can hold dual nationality? If not then why are we being bestowed with long speeches of Tahir Ul Qadri Sahab and Altaf Bhai in Media? Justice Me Lord!

@fawad khan: It is easy to blame PPP leaders but Altaf Bhai also owns British Nationality and many of MQM parliamentarians too including Reza Haroon, Haider Abbas Rizvi. If Justice is fair and non-partisan, I hope no dual national can be leader of any party. SC should take notice of this please.Justice for all.
All the judges, army officers and politicians who's families are foreign citizens must be sacked. These crafty men make sure they don't get the foreign nationality but their families do so they can benefit from the foreign nationality at will and milk Pakistan at the same time. All govt servants should declare the nationality of their spouses at a minimum.
Nabeel Gabol owns nationality of Oman too. When I met his son in Miami he told me so. His son was in Miami for studies via using omani passport. Nabeel whole family lives in muscat and owns hotels there.
