ABBOTABAD:

Four villages have been cut off from the rest of Galiyat due to snow that fell eight days back, villagers said on Tuesday.

There are over 30 link roads in the entire valley.

While most of them were cleared following complaints, the Nathiagali Mochi Dhara Road, Kali Bandi Badhar Road and Gonga Gali Sokakas Road are still unusable.

The blocked roads, according to villagers, have paralysed lives in four villages, where people have been cut off from fuel and daily-use items.

They have been virtually locked inside their homes, having being disconnected from Nathiagali and Abbottabad.

A Galiyat Development Authority official, asking not to be named, said that the contractor for clearing roads is influential and has been ignoring their repeated warnings.

The official added that the authority's director general has been told about the situation.

He has assured the villagers that the three blocked roads will be cleared "very soon", the official added.
