BARA:

A militant commander was killed and three volunteers of the Akka Khel peace militia were injured on Monday when clashes broke out between the two in the Bara tehsil area of Khyber Agency.

According to political administration official Javaid Afridi, militants of Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) attacked Akka Khel peace militia volunteers, leaving three of them injured.

However, when the militants turned back towards the mountainous region in Akka Khel, the peace militia retaliated, and killed Mangal Bagh-led LI commander Shah Wali.

The injured volunteers were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar, while skirmishes reportedly continued throughout the day.
