Mughees and Muneeb’s family have consented to the second postmortem.
The second postmortem of the two innocent lynched brothers Hafiz Mughees and Muneeb Butt will be conducted on September 14 (Tuesday), at Imam Sahib Graveyard Sialkot City under the supervision of a special board comprising senior doctors.
The second postmortem is being conducted on the orders of the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary, who had expressed dissatisfaction over the first postmortem report, saying that the doctors and Sialkot police had concealed the facts in the postmortem report.
The CJ had ordered the postmortem of the lynched brothers to ascertain the actual causes of their death. The lynched brother’s uncle Muhammad Zarar Butt said that the grieved family has consented to conduct the second autopsy of Mughees and Muneeb.
Senior officials of the Sialkot District Administration said that the graves of the lynched youths Hafiz Mughees and Muneeb Butt in Imam Sahib Graveyard Sialkot would be exhumed under the supervision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on September 14, 2010 Tuesday, amid tight security and that all necessary legal arrangements have been finalised. Senior police officials told reporters that the Sialkot police have chalked out a foolproof security plan in this regard in a bid to avert any untoward incident.

Is it not enough that they were killed infront of many people and their video is also avaliable . why we are again humiliating them , second postmortum will not also produce result if one is blind.Recommend
I fully agree with Anjum. I hate our judicial system which asks for proof of cause of death even when you have sufficient evidence and most of the times, release the culprits for the lack of evidence even when you have sufficient proof! Justice delayed is justice denied.
Even if CJ manages to do some good in the present judicial system, it will revert to the same rotten state after his exit as it has been devised to serve the Ruling and exploiting Tola, it will never serve the masses!Recommend
Second postmortem on the orders of Chief Justice to determine cause of death in absence of other pieces of evidence required under the law for proving guilt of accused will not serve any good purpose. Cases where police officials are involved often result in acquittal, In this case same will happen and the accused specially from police will turn up as heroesRecommend
I think it will not only determine the cause of death (which, though, is not exactly what is required) but will also assure harsh sentence to the culprits.. mob crimes usually end up in sentence of a couple of years whereas in this case there should be nothing less than death penalty!! For that, court might require solid evidence.. let’s trust the courts for once! What other choice do we have?Recommend

Media is certainly trying its best to keep the issue alive; it was a sad incident and only a thorough investigation will help in reaching a definite conclusion.Recommend

Media is NOT AT ALL at its best here!! The second autopsy has been done but there was nothing much on the media; in fact you can find much more on the facebook page what a disappointment. The press conference of the family of the lynched brothers was not just not telecasted, there were no slides either on any of the channels nor a report in any of the papers. Pakistani media was much focussed on Babri Masjid verdict, the NRO crap and stuff that holds no interest of a common man. Mughees and Muneeb have become a victim of not only the mob’s barbarity and police’s atrocity but also the media’s indifference and public’s apathy.. May Allah bless their souls and grant them justice. Looks like Allah has to come to earth each time to do justice as our courts are unable of providing it to the masses!!Recommend
