3 killed, 8 injured in Balochistan violence

At least three people were gunned down and eight others, including three security personnel and a prayer leader, suffered injuries in acts of violence in different parts of Balochistan on Friday.


A man was gunned down by unknown persons in the Mach area, some 45 km away from Quetta.

Culprits opened fire on the labourer who was working in a coalmine in the area. The deceased was identified as Khudadad, son of Mohammad Jan, belonging to the Hazara community.

In a separate incident, at least two persons were killed and three others sustained injuries when unknown persons stormed into a house and opened fire in the Kharan area.The dead were identified as Hidatullah and Bahram Khan.

Meanwhile, two persons, including a prayer leader, sustained injuries after firing by unknown armed men in the Sariab Road area.

The prayer leader of Jamia Mosque Moulana Israr Ahmad was returning home with his brother Hafiz Akhlaq Ahmad after offering Friday prayers when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on them.

Furthermore, three security personnel sustained injuries when unknown robbers opened fire on a passenger wagon travelling from Dera Ismail Khan to Zhob on the national highway. The men identified as Sajid, Jafar and Shafqat were attacked by robbers.
