Raising awareness: UNICEF official meets Sindh Ombudsman

Discussed the conditions of children in the province.

KARACHI: A consultant of Unicef Pakistan, Reidar Kvaal Hjermann, met Sindh Ombudsman Asad Ashraf Malik to discuss the conditions of children in the province. According to Malik, a cell had been set up in 2009 to register children’s complaints and to deal with cases of child abuse. He said that his office was devising a policy to help implement the Convention on Rights of Children and to make the complaint cell more effective. The adviser to the federal ombudsman, Aijaz Qureshi, was also present at the meeting.
