Automobiles: Sector contributing 1.5% to revenues

"Impressive progress made by the IMC has made it a flagship company in the county’s automobile sector", says Shaikh.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh has said that the automobile sector is contributing 1.5% to the Federal Board of Revenue’s total collection, and is a major source of employment in the country. He made these remarks while addressing a ceremony held by the Indus Motors Company (IMC) on the completion of production of 500,000 vehicles. Speaking on the occasion, Shaikh congratulated the IMC and said that the impressive progress made by the IMC has made it a flagship company in the county’s automobile sector and that the company is a key asset in the nation’s vibrant auto industry.

IMC is an asset to the nation's industry. Haven't heard of read bigger bull shivik than this in my life. You just import parts and assemble them here and call it your vehicle. This ain't manufacturing, it's assembling!
