‘Fesco developing a load management plan’

Fesco CEO stresses the need for consumer help to save power.

FAISALABAD:

The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) is working on developing a load management plan to supply uninterrupted electricity to its domestic, agricultural, industrial and commercial consumers, Chief Executive Officer Iftikhar Ahmad said on Tuesday.

Ahmad said currently the demand and supply of electricity was almost equal due to changes in the weather. With better load management, he said, Fesco could successfully provide uninterrupted electricity to its consumers in the Faisalabad, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Khushab and Chiniot districts. He, however, urged consumers to play their role in saving electricity.

He advised the people to switch off unnecessary lights and use less electricity during peak hours by avoiding the use of washing machines, pressing irons and heaters.

He said this would help Fesco to continue uninterrupted electricity supply.

If the difference between the demand and supply increased, he said, Fesco would be left with no option but to start loadshedding. He also said that Fesco was planning to offer free energy audits to its industrial consumers. He hoped the industrial consumers would fully avail the facility to bring down their electricity bills.
