KARACHI: The Pakistani government should write a letter to the US for the speedy release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, said Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Syed Munawar Hasan.  Talking to the mother of Aafia, Asmat Siddiqui and Dr Fauzia Siddiqui at their residence on Eidul Azha, Hasan said that the imprisonment of Dr. Aafia is a negation of the rights of women.  He urged the government to write a letter to the US administration before the upcoming US polls, and seek urgent release of Dr. Siddiqui. He said the prime minister had promised that he would take steps for the release of Aafia and that it should be fulfilled.
