Malala shooting: Same extremist mindset killed my mother, says Bilawal

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari claimed Thursday that the mindset responsible for the attack on Malala Yousafzai was the same one which took his mother’s life, reported Radio Pakistan.
Bilawal was speaking on the fifth anniversary of the Karsaz incident, the assassination attempt on Benazir Bhutto which she narrowly escaped.
Praying for those killed in the bomb attack that day, Bilawal said that he was determined to defeat the extremist mindset of militants which he said was behind both his mother’s assassination and the attack on Malala Yousufzai.
Benazir Bhutto had escaped the attempt on her life as she returned in 2007 after years of exile but was shot and killed in an attack later on the same year.
Malala – a 14-year-old child activist was shot by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and is currently under treatment at a hospital in Birmingham.
The alleged organiser of the Malala shooting, Reuters reported, was captured during a 2009 military offensive against the militant group but was released after three months.

Completely agreed with Bilawal’s belief that the extremist mindset that brutally attacked Malala is the same that killed Benazir Bhutto. However, what distinguishes Malala from Bilawal is that she stood up for her beliefs, and said and did all the right things knowing that she was unprotected and could be killed. The intensity Malala showed for other girls education is lacking in Bilawal even for his own mother’s brutal killing, as manifested by PPP’s lack of interest in BB’s murder investigation and in taking on the extremists elements. The fourteen year old Malala Yousufzai appears to be a genuine leader that Bilawal and Imran Khan are not.

The question here would be “who gained from Benazir’s death” ? There is always a motive. PPP is in power and should be able to investigate into this and find out who was behind the assassination.
