Vidya Balan’s dare bare show in The Dirty Picture has bagged her a nomination in the best actor category at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSAs), for which our local star Humaima Mallick is also in competition for her role in Bol, according to IANS.

Vidya played southern sex siren Silk Smitha in the Ekta Kapoor produced movie, which won her accolades while Humaima essayed the part of a strong woman who combats patriarchal society in Bol.

They are competing alongside names like Korean actor Cho Min-soo (Pieta), Russian actor Darya Ekamasova (Once Upon a Time There Lived a Simple Woman) and Philippines-based Nora Aunor (Thy Womb), according to the official APSA website.

Whether Vidya will win the award for her feisty role in The Dirty Picture or Humaima will bag the trophy for a character several women across the subcontinent can relate to, is yet to be known. Our vote is for Humaima — good luck!
