KARACHI:

Former Pakistan player Khalid Atlas Khan, nephew of squash legend Jansher Khan, has been appointed as the national coach by the Guatemala Squash Federation.

Khalid, who has represented Pakistan at the World Junior Open, British Junior Open, junior Asian and PSA events, is the elder brother of Pakistan number one Aamir Atlas Khan.

Beside being a Asian Squash Federation (ASF) Level 2 qualified coach, Khalid has also undergone coaching assignments in India and Kuwait.

“It’s an honour for us to appoint Khalid because he comes from a country of squash legends,” Guatemala Squash Federation President Roberto Hernandez told The Express Tribune. “We hope our players are able produce good results under the guidance of Khalid.”

Khalid is not the first Pakistani to coach at an international level with Rehmat Khan, Fahim Gul, Zarak Jahan, Hidayat Jahan and current Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) head coach Jamshed Gul among the others.
