ISLAMABAD: Expo Centre Sharjah has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Halal Development Council of Pakistan (HDC Pakistan), assuming responsibility to organise the Halal Congress Middle East 2012. The exhibition will be held from December 10 to December 12, 2012 and will be followed by similar halal food expos in the Middle East in the future.

According to HDC Pakistan, the show will provide Pakistani companies an opportunity to showcase their potential in halal products to global players, and exchange experience and expertise with them on compliance, certification and standards systems, branding, marketing, research and trade development.

The MoU was signed by Sharjah Expo Centre Director General Saif Mohammed alMidfa and HDC Pakistan CEO and Secretary General Asad Sajjad at the Sharjah Expo Centre. According to the agreement, the show will be organised by Expo Centre Sharjah, a subsidiary of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and will have the official patronage of the Ruler of Sharjah and UAE Supreme Council Member Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed alQassimi.

Speaking on the occasion, Midfa said that the congress will present country experiences; local, regional, and international outlook for the industry; and industry updates and promote investment. The expo will enable professionals and decision-makers to identify investment, joint ventures and trading opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa region, apart from Pakistan, and the rest of the subcontinent, central Asia, Afghanistan and OIC countries, he added.
