I believe that the responsibility for this tragic incident lies at the hands of the factory owners, then govt depts.
KARACHI: This is with reference to Majyd Aziz’s article “The Karachi fire and after” (September 15). The writer believes that factory owners and government departments are equally responsible for the tragic Baldia Town fire. However, I believe that the entire responsibility for this tragic incident lies at the hands of the factory owners and then on government departments. Setting up a fund for the families of the victims cannot bring back the dead factory workers. The industrialists, who are rich and powerful, should know that they can only earn their profits through the hard work put in by the poor workers who work for them day and night on meagre salaries.
