Finding solace in Pashto music and film
Rahat Ali Khan has bowled us over with his effortless singing in his new track “Saaiyaan” from the upcoming Bollywood movie Heroine. It’s been beautifully sung in a melancholic and engaging tone, one only a singer like Rahat can render.
This musical masterpiece is a perfect blend of three crucial ingredients: a breath-taking voice, profound lyrics and a complementary magical sound. In essence, it’s a sad song, but that’s what the audience loves.
The singer has done full justice to the dark emotional turbulence depicted in the lyrics. His pitch and vocal range match the highs and lows in the song — altering his voice to suit the heartbreak, making it the new anthem in the subcontinent.
The music is done by the dynamic duo Salim-Sulaiman while the simple yet effective lyrics were penned down by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
