ISLAMABAD: Two truck drivers were killed in Nagar’s Chalt valley of Gilgit-Baltistan in reaction to the massacre of 19 Shia passengers, sources told The Express Tribune by phone from Gilgit. One of the victims was identified as Muhammad Ishaque from Mohmand Agency.
A sepoy of the Rangers was also shot and injured in Gilgit, Daily Express/Express News correspondent Shakoor Azam told The Express Tribune.
In a related development, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf called G-B Chief Minister Mehdi Shah and expressed grief over the incident in Naran.
Ashraf ordered Pakistan Air Force (PAF) authorities to operate C-130 flights to Gilgit and Skardu to help transport passengers stranded in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, enabling them to celebrate Eidul Fitr with their families.
Hundreds of passengers, including women and children, have been stranded in the twin cities as public and private transport was suspended following the killing of 19 passengers in Babusar.

Sunni killings don’t fit the narrative that has been developed and propagated through social media.The narrative is that it’s not a sectarian fight,that’s it’s a one-sided crime.The reality that both sides are killing each other doesn’t matter,the popular narrative is that it’s just one-sided and that’s why the media didn’t give much coverage to the deliberate target killings of Sunni men in Karachi last night.

Media is reporting biased they are reporting only on the killing of Shias which is quite injustice. media should give coverage both parties but it seems as media has some agenda against Sunni.
Sectarian issue should be deal with wise policy on government level otherwise we should ready to face worst situation.

This is inhuman act and need to be condemned. those were innocent people. had nothing to do what happened in Naran .Since i belong to this area. as per my information one got killed and second one is alive. although he was shot. and Another Shia business man got killed by truck driver in area. May be Break fail. its not clear the motive yet.

My dear brothers and sisters! don’t confuse yourself upon killing of 8 persons in karachi after Astore and Quetta/Karachi shia killings. Infact no one can co-relate these two incidents with each other. Because no of times tens and even hundreds of shia people are killed but there found no reaction in any part of the country against any of the sect.
However, if shia people exercise their right to protest against target killing infront of any govt. installation then it is their basic right in the light of constitution of Pakistan and No one should be worried about their protest.
In addition to this it must be kept in mind regarding current killing of 8 person in karachi, it is narrated that those people were members of banned SSP and not of Sunni fiqqah. Infact this is conspiracy and those people were also targetted by their own hardliners to blame the shia community for tit-for-tate revenges. Its responsibilty goes to the foreign hand i.e. American’s / Israeli’sor even the local secret agencies and their payroll. Therefore, it is respectfully requested to the majority sunni brothers and sisters to not confuse themselves becuase primarily this is the main cause of those banned outfit i.e SSP, Lashkare Jhangvi, Tehrike Taliban, Pakistan etc. to start religious insurgency in the country to break this sacred homeland into pieces.Recommend

Hey people damage is being done to Pakistan ok so take your sunni shia nonsense somewhere else. We need to start thinking as a nation and protecting all sects,religions as to prevent conspiracy against the country. Plz do not relate the killing of shias in Naran with the killings of Sunnis in Karachi. U need to be neutral to understand the fact that the enemies of shias n sunnis are common. The people who were killed in Karachi were the active members of banned organisations Supah-e-Sahaba, Lashkar-e-Jangvi, Lashkar-e-Tayyaba etc who who r basically the sub groups of terrorist group Teheek-e-Taliban. These groups were involved in the attacks on Pak Rangers in Karachi. It is the need of the time to understand the fact that terrorist is terrorist, he does’t have any religion n sect. Terrorist should be treated terrorist nothing else. Shias n Sunnis r brothers n we need to b united with others as well. We must show unity against terrorism n talibanization in Pakistan.

Please clearify if all sunnis like SSP- LASHJARR JANGVI? By doing this you guys would make the number game very easy for SHIAS. Because it seems like a number game directed by RIYAD-SAUDI ARABIA and approved by GHQ-islamabad.. Btw just a reminder for sunni brothers that gilgat baltistan is still just ANNEXED with pakistan. Its still not part of Pakistan, u might not beleive it but research it.
