Congratulations to my uncle Muhammad Aslam Khan Journalist for nominate Tamgh e Imtiaz
May Al-Mighty Allah give strength to him as well who is working for Pakistan to win the award in the following year also.
No Veena Malick?
Insead of Altaf Hussain they awarded Dr Ishrat ul Abad the Governor of Sindh whereas they ignored their other allies like Asfand Yar Wali Khan and Molvina Fazalur Rehman.
Half of them are awards for serving the PPP - very little to do with the cause of Pakistan and its people.
@Truth bites: altaf hussain will get Nissan e Haider.
@M_ALI: only qualification she achieved was "death"
Mr.Edhi really deserve the award.he also deserve noble prize for his contributions towards humanity. Mr.Mazhar-e-Alam tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Mech) also deserve this title.
Most deserve the awards they are getting. But for those who have been recognized after there passing away it is a bit late.
Finally ishrat Ul Ebad receives the award for acting out of call of duty. Main reasons is the mV suez and Mv albedo hostages release of the 100's of things the governor has achieved Mashallah. May Allah bless him even more ad hope he goes even higherr up the ladder!!!
Dr Munir ahmed khan was in reality the father of pakistani atomic technology
Why Imran Khan was not conferred for Nishan-i-Imtiaz despite of his considerable contribution in the shape of a re-known hospital and an university?
@M_ALI: She defended the indefensible.
im pretty sure Imran Khan was the same person who built the nations most famous cancer hospital, won the 1992 world cup and other projects but will he ever be mentioned by this government?
Having followed the recipients of national awards for a very long time, this is by far the most distinguished group of people ever have been awarded the national honors.
Hats off Mr President!
What?? No Agha Waqar??
Very distinguished list....but Hamid Mir??? surely not.
Also great to see Dr Munir Ahmed Khan being acknowledged - the true father of Pakistan's A-bomb.
where is my name? :'(
No comments for this year's awards but next year, Insha-Allah Imran Khan will be awarded country's highest award by newly elected President Zardari and PPP government.
I think Syed Mustafa Kamal of Karachi deserve at least Hilal-e-Imtiaz if not Nishan-e-Imtiaz!! He has done a lot for the city in a very short span of time.
edhi sahib deserves the nashan-e-pakistan. it is an insult to give him a nashan-e-imtiaz, the same decoration that was given to rehman malik a year earlier. can someone ever even think of arguing how rehman malik's service to the country is even close to edhi sahib's?
This time its journalists. Last year the awards were awarded to "Jialaas". meera received the award last time. I think presidency has forgotten to give award to veena malik
To dr eshrat abad and why not to Altaf Hussain Was there not a single person honest enough to refuse award from current president
And what is a controversial "journalist" like Hamid Mir doing on the list ????
Why the politicians? It is their duty. Not a service. Shameful
@M_ALI: major role in repealing hudood ordinance. fought for democracy. a woman leader in a man's world. gracefully wiped all the muck thrown at her because of her political affiliation. And you said it yourself she was a very brave lady, sometimes you have to give the likes of fauzia wahab your hilal e imtiaz so that the next fauzia wahab can know she will not work for nothing :)
Congratulations to all the distinguished people of Pakistan.
May Al-Mighty Allah give strength to other people as well who are working for Pakistan to win the award in the following year.
Fauzia Wahab never served this country in a manner to deserve this award yeah but she was always at service of PPP to confront Judiaciary and defend corruption, mis governance and incompetence.
I see Rehman Malik's name is missing.
@M_ALI: Yes she is Shaheed e Zardari. She would be cursing herself. This medal does not compensate the loss of values she suffered while alive.
May Fauzia Wahab's soul rest in peace, she was a very brave lady but do i see any point in giving her hilal e imtiaz?
