Landmine explosion: One killed, two injured in twin blasts

Two tribesmen were on their way to work at 6 am, when an explosive device blew up.

A tribesman was killed and another injured in an explosion in Takhtazai area of Tirah Valley, Khyber Agency on Saturday.


An official of the Bara political administration said that two tribesmen were on their way to work at 6 am, when an explosive device blew up.

Rasheed Khan was killed on the spot and his colleague injured. Tirah is a secluded valley that has little contact with surrounding areas.

Different factions of militants have gathered there, fighting with each other. The official also said that the people of Qamarkhel have warned these groups not to intervene in their issues.

In another incident, a man was injured when a landmine exploded near him in Parachinar, headquarters of the Upper Kurram Agency.

According to an official of the political administration, Younas Ali from Balish Khel was on his way to Parachinar Bazaar at around noon when the blast occurred. He was taken to the Agency Headquarters Hospital Parachinar in stable condition.
