
According to reports from the Indian media, the action was taken as per the ceasefire agreement between the two countries.
NDTV.com, however, reported that the soldier was looking for 'asylum' in India due to lack of basic facilities at the Line of Control (LoC).
The Indian channel said that Arif Ali, of the Frontier Force, was arrested around 6am the previous day. No arms were found in his possession.
