Furry treat: Pakistan Army hosts pet show in Quetta

Published: July 3, 2012

QUETTA: What would be the best way to cheer up residents of the troubled provincial capital? For the Pakistan Army the answer, it seems, is a pet show.

Part competition, part display, the pet show was held in Quetta on Tuesday, attended by many excited spectators, young and old alike.

Dogs, cats, goats, sheep, parrots and other animals strolled across open grounds under the hot summer sun to compete in the show.

Army dogs performed tricks along with their trainers, as commentary continued in the background.

To entertain the audience further, the army’s marching band also performed a musical number.

Great move.Quetta residents needed such an event.it came as a nice change from the sectarian and ethnic violence that has plagued the city for many years now.More such events should be held.

your story suggests that competition wasn’t what the situation required…may be I’m mistaken. Nonetheless, in my opinion, its good to have such activities.
