Female MPAs throw shoes at belligerent Sheikh Alauddin

PML-Q MPA throws shoe at Unification bloc member after he passes vulgar remarks against women members of the house.

LAHORE: A ruckus was created in the Punjab Assembly on Wednesday when Unification Bloc leader Sheikh Alauddin passed vulgar remarks against women MPAs in the opposition, Express News reported.

Reacting to his offensive remarks, the women MPAs raised slogans and gathered before Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal’s dais.

Seemal Kamran, an MPA from the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid threw a shoe at Alauddin, while another shoe came hurling across from the opposite side of the House.

Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, PML-Q’s parliamentary party leader demanded that the Speaker should take action against the one who initiated the act of throwing shoes and also ask Alauddin to apologise for the remarks he made.

After the altercation, Iqbal ordered that Alauddin’s remarks be removed from the day’s proceedings and also assured that the MPAs who threw shoes will be suspended.

The opposition staged a walkout after the commotion.

I am not surprised at the trash talk of top leaders of the ruling party in Punjab against women members. His body language and ager shows the attitude, disdain and thinking of rightwing parties about the women even in the open broad daylight on the camera. I don't know how could they go home and face their daughters wife or sisters.

@neil: Well, this is the provincial assembly and members have thrown chairs at each other in Rajia Sabha. (upper house of Indian parliament)
