The budget farce

Letter May 31, 2012
During the rule of the present government, industrial and agricultural growth has drastically declined.

MIRPUR: The fraudulent exercise of making the budget will continue to terrorise the public through the increase in amount of utility tariffs and price of essential commodities. This will continue in conjunction with countless hours of loadshedding.

During the rule of the present government, industrial and agricultural growth has drastically declined and it seems that only foreign remittances are sustaining the country. This economic scenario is the result of the unchecked loot and plunder that has gone on for the last four years, and has ruined the lives of the poor and the middle classes of the country.

The opposition parties are as much to blame for this situation as the government is. A divided opposition has done nothing to help hold the government accountable for its acts. Major opposition parties like the PTI and the PML-N must unite to overthrow this corrupt, anti-poor government.
