Two suspects arrested, weapons seized in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi Police arrest two suspected terrorists, seize 35,000 bullets, 35 pistols, 10 repeaters and other arms.

RAWALPINDI: Police arrested two suspected terrorists and recovered a vehicle laden with arms, Express News reported on Tuesday.

DSP Cantt Rawalpindi, while speaking to the media, said that the police received a tip-off that a huge cache of arms were being smuggled from Peshawar to Rawalpindi. The weapons were meant to be used for terrorist activities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, he added.

The police, on receiving the information, blocked the Fateh Jang Road and stopped a suspected car, retrieving 35,000 bullets, 35 automatic pistols, 10 repeaters, three 9mm guns and other weapons from the vehicle.

The arrested suspects, Gul Khan and Zaman Khan, were arrested and shifted to Cantt Police Station.
