A total of 100 scholarships will be awarded to economically disadvantaged students of Mansehra district under the English Access Micro Teaching Programme of Hazara University (HU). The initiative has been taken by the American Consulate General Office in Peshawar, in collaboration with HU.
The university’s vice-chancellor, Prof. Dr Syed Sakhawat Shah, and US Consulate General Office Public Affairs Officer Marcia Anglarill signed a memorandum of understanding in this regard at a ceremony on Monday.
Anglarill said that the selected students of the district will be offered two-year scholarships. The students will be from eighth grade to intermediate level attending the English Access Micro Teaching Programme of HU.
She expressed hope that the program will help the students develop capacities in basic-level English, which will facilitate them in higher education and provide them with economic benefits in the job sector. Dr Shah said that the programme will open new avenues for the students in the district.
