QUETTA: The Additional Session Judge – V Quetta issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) provincial president Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti and his 26 accomplices on Friday.

The arrest warrants were issued after the Supreme Court Treasury Bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry cancelled the bail of Shahzain and his guards, earlier granted by the Balochistan High Court.

The Additional Session Judge—V Sayed Zulfiqar Naqvi had issued the warrants on Friday.

They were arrested by paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) on December 22, 2010 at the Buleli checkpost in Quetta for allegedly smuggling weapons.

Sources say a huge cache of weapons and ammunition, including 50 Kalashnikov assault rifles, anti-aircraft guns and 46,000 rounds, was recovered from the vehicles they were travelling in.

Shahzain had approached the Balochistan High Court and was granted bail.

    How about arrest warrants of PM’s son and those accused of accepting money from ISI, or we have decided about selective justice only?

    @Faizan Afzal:
    Yes, do it. Like Nawab Akbar Bugti was pro-Pakistan and your military killed him, just do the same with Shahzain, who wants to fight for Baloch rights under the federation as he said a thousands times.

    This is justice PCO style. Instead of going after the murderers of Akbar Bugti why not go against his family? This combined with the tortured bodies of Baloch should bring peace and justice in Balochistan. May be younger Bugti commit suicide just like Akbar Bugti?

    He’s not pro Pakistan. He’s Pro Bugtis and pro Balochistan. Bugtis and Balochistan have been a part of Pakistan, with or without consent for about good 65 years. So, either you’re Pro Pakistan or you’re put behind bars. Nothing to feel bad about. Anyone with this much power or ammunition should be dealt with in the right manner.

    Guys he was breaking the law here. Whether his cause is righteous or not is academic. What is true unlicensed heavy weapons are a danger to society. An AK-47 in a the hands of a Baloch tribesman may one day be sold onwards and may keep changing hands until it ends up in the hands of gangsters or petty thugs and further increase bloodshed in this country. Look at whats happening in Lyari.

    He is a good person and there is nothing wrong if he is asking for the rights of Balochistan. I hope PMLN will support Bugti in this hour of Need and will not allow the government to arrest him. We first did the worst thing by Killing Bigti and now we should not take any bad action as it is the right of Baloch to raise their voice and there is nothing wrong in it.

    @Adil.: I am pro Balochistan. So would you label me as a Traitor or what. Nobody have the right to issue certificates of Patriotism. I totally disagree with your logic as Baloch have every right to raise their voice and nobody have the right to declare someone Non Pakistani and put them behind bars. Are we are living in a slave nation of what. ??. Every nation have the right to protect themselves in Pakistan Recommend

    Arresting such militants who have effectively created a militia with in a state, would be a bold step from judiciary. Sort of an example to all such ethnic and religious vagabonds that support covert killings and terror in the name of their nation/religion.

    Why this man was traveling with an Anti-aircraft gun + thousands of rounds?

    @Hasan Awan:

    The court is not after him coz he is good or bad but Shahzain was caught red-handed with truck load of arms(latest weapons) at the border. One more interesting thing to note is that he announced a billion dollar bounty on Pervez Musharraf. If he has that kind of money then why he does not spend on his tribe. This BLA people killing people to blame the Pak-army where as Pak army said they are not in Baluchistan. Previously his bail was excepted now the bail is cancelled and he is supposed to be in the court instead he did not show in the court that is the reason of his arrest.

    If he is a separatist – put him on trial and punish in accordance with LAW. If he is not a criminal, please leave the man alone. He stills believes in the federation and trust me he is among the very few Balochs who believe in Pakistan now. I am a Punjabi and honestly Baloch people are some of the nicest people on Earth. Give them JUSTICE! Befriend a Baloch and honest they will come to your aid even if they have to risk death.

    Instead of bringing security forces into the box for state of affairs of Balochistan, jail the only Bugti still supporting Pakistan, that’s justice of the Azaad Adliya!

    Another not so surprising verdict by a ethnically biased Supreme Court.
