Rainy weather hits Quetta as PTI plans big show

ISLAMABAD: As Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) prepares for a big show in Quetta, it seems that rainy weather may hamper its efforts of drawing a huge crowd, the likes of which were seen in Lahore and Karachi.

PTI leaders in Quetta were putting in all their efforts to attract a huge crowd at the public gathering which was scheduled to be held at Ayub Stadium on April 20.

Organisers were compelled to change the venue due to the rain and will now be hosting the rally at Quetta’s hockey stadium.

The party’s top leadership remains optimistic of their success as there have been no huge public gatherings held in or around Quetta since 2008 due to the deteriorating law and order situation in the province.

PTI Vice President Balochistan Humayun Barkwal said that despite the law and order situation, many tribal notables will be attending the rally.

To make the show ‘historic’, local PTI leaders have approached the people and urged them to participate in the rally.

PTI Information Secretary Shafqat Mehmood met Chief Secretary Balochistan and Commissioner Quetta to discuss security arrangements for the rally.

Frontier Constabulary and local police will be deputed on the occasion.

    What difference Karachi jalsa made so far?????? Its for Punjab they are fighting against PMLN and all other parties in their respective provinces supports PTI. Bcoz they know it will not effect them. Thats the real match fixing between PTI and MQM, ANP, PPPP. They all are fighting against PMLN the only positive party in Pakistan. We need Democracy but its only Mian who is trying for that even with Medal of so called friendly opposition. Its easy to make mess against ruling party than patience to save democracy.

    @Democratic: “They all are fighting against PMLN the only positive party in Pakistan”. Excuse me. Did I hear that correct? Oh my God! This is totally insane. I can’t believe there are still people around who believe PMLN is a positive party. Please name one positive change that they have brought in Punjab in the last 4 years? Anything? Law and order situation? thana culture? putwari system?, dengue virus? killings from tainted drugs? Ok, I get it now. Maybe its the laptop gimmicks. Am I right? When are we going to learn from our past? How much more do we have to suffer before we start realizing their true faces. I am speechless at your comments.

    @Ehtesham Qamar: Mr Ehtisham other than Defence Lahore, Model town, Gulberg and Bahria town wherever you go in Upper Punjab PMLN have a huge support base. Democratic is right in a sense that PPP will win the same seats as before and all other parties will win same seats. The only party that is in Opposition is PMLN and all of these parties want to tackle PMLN and since Imran Khan bashing of PMLN is crossing all bounds and his utter silence on ANP and MQM is raising serious serious doubts so people are right in raising serious questions. I supported PTI in the past but now I am supporting PMLN as i am of the view that PMLN can bring positive change and Punjab’s governance is best in Pakistan and still Shahbaz Sharif is bashed all the time and I am of the view that in future People should avoid PTI to strengthen PMLN and to evade PPP, MQM and ANP tactics to again come into power.
    The other reason not to support Imran is that He had categorically said that he could not have a coalition with MQM but not with PMLN. This simply means that PTI would divide the opposition in Pakistan and will weaken Opposition and will strenghten PPP to again win elections. Imran will divide the opposition while at the same time he will be bash PMLN and will be supporting MQM and ANP to strengthen PPP indirectly.
    If Imran will say that in future he could form an alliance with PMLN if they will be in opposition for the greater good of Pakistan then i am with him. If Imran will say he dont want coalition with PMLN in future against PPP then sorry i cannot support PTI at all as I dont want weak Opposition but a strong Opposition in future.

Cannot you criticize other parties??. Only one party bashing all the time is counter productive and the same party whose governance is best than the rest of the parties and provinces.

    Dr. Arif Alvi said that you don’t cancel a shaadi because of the rain, why a jalsa. x)

    @Very 1:
    I was bought by PTI’s ideology in the late 2010, but I understand your point : if the jalsa in Quetta is huge – as you put it – it will be symbolic – in the minds of many, “Imran Khan is the only to save Balochistan” will be an obvious echo.

    @Hasan:
    Oh yaar, tussi kis Punjab de rahnde o, Punjab’s not limited to Lahore, which supposedly should have been “Pakistan’s Paris”, go anywhere else and you’ll get my point.

    And if they’re into PML-N bashing, that’s right, it’s because other parties are either regional (ANP, MQM) or are already doing enough publicity against themselves on a national level (PPP) – and to win Punjab is essential… isn’t PTI a political party ? That’s pure politics. And his criticisms are never personal, but always political : when he accuses one guy of nurturing his sugars mills through the qaumi khazana, it’s not “personal”, but indeed political.

    I agree with @Ehtesham Qamar: we have a tendency to complicate things and presnt the simple facts in a very convoluted manner.

    Look at all the leaders we follow.

    Like @Hasan: said “i cannot support PTI at all as I dont want weak Opposition but a strong Opposition in future.”. Tell us Hassan: since PTI is not part of the govt, what is it that holding PML-N to act as a strong opposition?

    PML has not only emerged as the biggest loser, both politically & morally, but also short sighted, incompetent, racist and as corrupt as incumbent govt & its allies. Your theory of stand off against PML N could be true, but that in itself demonstrates that inanity prevails amongst this party’s leadership who remained be fooled by the trickeries of their political enemy over & over & over…therefore its entirely their own fault.

    @Democratic: “ PMLN the only positive party in Pakistan”…
    if that was the answer you had written in your exams, you would have scored NIL! Recommend

This mean its not democratic party and is only a work for the their own personal and fimily interests. PTI is a democratic pary and can’t make an alliance with PML(N).

    * Their are no political cases during zardari tenure ( The only Plus i could find)
    * Nawaz helped democrasy and stood against ectabllishment but failed to revamp the Punjab Police, education and health sector (very sad i expected better from him)
    * Imran Khan never hold office but talk about corrouption which is key of disaster which is good from his past i am convinced he can do that
    * Khan do not appreciate good things done by PMLN at all.
    * MQM give representation to middle class which is good
