Zardari calls Karzai, reiterates commitment to peace

Says attacks will not deter them from pursuing the common objective of defeating militancy, militants.

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari telephoned AfghanPresident Hamid Karzai Wednesday evening and condemned Sunday’s militant attacks on the Parliament building, embassies in Kabul and additional coordinated attacks in other parts of the country.      

President Zardari said that peace in Afghanistan was critical for peace in Pakistan and that Pakistan will continue to support all Afghan led peace initiatives.

He said that the people and government of Pakistan will continue to stand by their Afghan brethren and such attacks will not deter them from pursuing the common objective of defeating militancy and militants.
