Sports day: Celebrating the activities of young athletes

Students and parents alike shine in annual event.

Campuses of the The City School in Islamabad and Rawalpindi organised colourful sports day events on Wednesday, said two press statements issued by the school.


With the slogan “Believe in Yourself” and amid cheers, the annual functions of the F11 and Harley Street Rawalpindi campuses concluded after a daylong event, attended by a large number of guests.

The students participated in many activities including flat races for both boys and girls.

Prominent activities included an enjoyable cheerleading performance by fourth and fifth graders who kept guests singing along with their up-tempo performances and melodious music.

Another notable activity of the events was the girl’s spoon race and the innovative bangle-wearing race.

Parents also participated in the sports extravaganza by taking part in the 200-metre “Fathers’ Race” and 100-metre “Mothers’ Race”, besides a tug of war between mothers and female teachers added joviality to the event.

Haq Nawaz, the 26 year old youngest tallest man of Pakistan also attended the event in F-11. His presence was a great attraction to parents and students.
